Islands with the best beaches in the South Pacific: There are so many islands in the South Pacific that it can be hard to decided which ones to dedicate your holiday time to. Hence I’ve narrowed it down to six islands with the most gorgeous beaches to help you choose.

If you aren’t too familiar with the South Pacific, its an area of ocean that holds a number of island nations nearby Australia and New Zealand, reaching all the way across to Hawaii. The islands are a popular pick for honeymooners, cruises and romantic getaways.

It was really hard to narrow it down to six islands, but I took the challenge head on. Read on to see the 6 islands with the best beaches in the South Pacific.

1. Erakor Island, Vanuatu

Nearby to Port Villa, Erakor island is a small island with beautiful beaches and a getaway vibe. There is only one resort on the island and while you’re close enough to civilization, it also feels like you’re on a tiny island (which you are).

If you run out of anything you can hop on a quick ferry back to Port Villa, although there is plenty on this island to keep you busy such as kayaking, snorkeling and eating at the restaurant.

 2. Upolu Beach Resort, Samoa

Upolu Island in Samoa has some of the best beaches with Lalomanu being the most popular, however many resorts has beautiful beaches on their own accord. The island houses the capital of Samoa, Apia, so is easy to fly into, and get around.

The island is not only known for being a beautiful beach destination, but is also popular for snorkeling and diving. There are also numerous waterfalls, rivers and walks that visitors can do during their time on Upolu Island.

 3. Plantation Island, Fiji

Most of the beaches around Plantation Island consist of calm lagoons, crystal clear water and small fishes dashing around. The stereotypical lazy coconut tree also features on many of the beaches on the island.

Outside of the water there is a golf course nearby, and a range of sports that you can play on the island.

 4. Moorea, Tahiti

Perhaps one of the more known honeymoon destinations in the South Pacific, the island of Moorea is so beautiful it could take your breath away. If you have the cash to splurge you’ll be in literal paradise here.

With a range of calm, clear beaches and stylish overwater bungalows, Moorea is a great choice if you’re looking for the classic honeymoon experience.

 5. Rarotonga, Cook Islands

While this list is in no particular order, if it was Rarotonga would definitely be close to taking the top spot. The island has numerous beautiful beaches and is also moderately well known as a honeymoon spot with Australian and New Zealand tourists.

This island also looks insanely beautiful from above so consider taking a scenic flight here to reef the contrast of colours with the light blue reef against the dark blue ocean.

6.  Hanauma Bay, Oahu, Hawaii

Oahu itself is a pretty big island, but if you position yourself close to Hanauma Bay you’ll have access to one of the prettiest beaches in Hawaii. The bay itself is a known snorkelling spot so its unlikely you’ll have it to yourself, but that doesn’t take away from it’s beauty.
